Lost Property

Items left behind by their owners before February 10, 2025 may have been turned into the Airport Police station. Any items left behind from February 10, 2025 may have been turned into our new Lost and Found property operator Smarte Carte who are located in T1 Arrivals.

Both Airport Police and Smarte Carte endeavour to match items that have been turned in with items reported lost by their owners. Items of lost property before February 10 shall be retained by the Airport Police for a period of two months and a day, after this time the property will be disposed of. Items of lost property found from 10 February, 2025 shall be retained by Smarte Carte for a period of three months, and after this time, the property will be disposed of.

If you are looking for a lost item from February 10, 2025 onwards please click here. If you can’t locate your item, please email dub.lostproperty@smartecarte.ie with details of your lost item, providing as much detail as possible.

Please note: It can take between 24 – 48 hours for items to appear on the databases.

Claim online

If you find a match for your property, claim it online, providing as much detail as possible to help confirm ownership.

You can claim any items lost before February 10, 2025 in person, by calling into our Airport Police Public Office, located in the Airport Police Station, Arrivals level of Terminal 1.

The Airport Police Station is open from 10.00 – 18.30 Monday – Saturday and from 10.00 – 14.30 on Sundays.

Any items lost from 10th February onwards can be claimed in person from Smarte Carte, which is open 24 hours, located in the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 1 next to the car rental desks.

 

Shipping

If your ownership of the lost item is able to be verified, you can either collect in person or arrange for it to be shipped. You’ll be provided with all the information you need either way.

Administration/Service fees may apply, plus postage and packaging if you require your item to be shipped.

Please note: Dublin Airport does not deal with any property lost or left on board aircraft, or with any queries relating to checked in baggage. All such matters are the responsibility of the airline or its ground handling agent.

  • If you have found a lost item and wish to turn it in, please go to the ‘Smarte Carte’ branch which is open 24 hours, located in the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 1 next to the car rental desks.
  • There is a handling charge payable for each lost item returned to its owner.
  • A valid photo ID will be required for inspection when collecting lost property.
